Have your kids come along and “drawn” on your car with your keys? Or has someone else opened their car door too quickly and have left scratches and no note? We’re here to recommend car wax to remove scratches, so you don’t have to go through any more pain on finding the right, ultimate car wax scratch remover.
Buying a new car can be a ticking time bomb of anxiety. Even the best drivers among us understand that eventually, no matter how careful we are, we’re bound to scratch our car eventually. It may not be our fault, it may be the simplest of errors, but more often than not the dreaded scratch eventually arrives.
The good news is this no longer needs to be the gut-tightening experience it used to be. In days gone by, those of us who simply couldn’t bear looking at a scratch on our precious new car would need to take it into the shop for repairs. Even a scratch less than an inch long could cost of over $100. Not ideal, especially on top of the car itself.
We’ve reviewed a few car scratch remover products below and have ranked them to help ease your search. All our products reviewed are top quality, high end car wax to suit your car’s needs.

Meguiar’s are fast becoming a household name, knowing there’s a bottle of this product stored safely under our kitchen sink means we no longer need to fear scratches like we once did. The ultimate car scratch remover compound, once applied, helps restore surface clarity by filling in the gaps caused by the scratch.
Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound leaves a clear finish, its micro-abrasive formula can also be used as a wax that removes oxidation and water spots, leaving the car looking like it did when it was in the showroom. Using a formula like this not only saves money to buff out scrapes on car, but time too.
The cars paintwork doesn’t need to be scratched or damaged in order to benefit from a product like this, it can be applied anytime and its effects will be beneficial. In fact as a wax, it can be used simply to make a car look fresh and well looked after. Cars do lose some of their sheen over time and even frequent washes and maintenance aren’t enough to prevent this. Applying a quality wax every now and again rectifies this issue and keeps us feeling proud of our automobiles. Making this our number one best wax to remove scratches product.
2. Carfidant Scratch and Swirl Remover
Best Features | Pros | Cons |
Safe for all car colors, comes with the buffer pad and an affordable price. Good deep car scratch remover. | Also removes stains, watermarks and other paint blemishes. | Some very deep scratches make not work with this product. |
Overview:
Carfidant Scratch and Swirl Remover should quite frankly, live in the cupboard of every self-respecting car owner. This product is specifically designed to keep our cars free from small scratches and swirl marks and any other blemish that may appear from exposure to the elements.
It’s simple to use, just apply a modest amount of the substance to the included buffer pad and gently apply to effected areas, to buff out scratches on car. It’s also effective on deep scratches, masking the damage but there are some that may be too deep. Although this product will help them look less noticeable.
Removing scratches is just one benefit of this product, the compound itself is also highly effective when it comes to removing stains, watermarks or any other form of paint blemish. It’s suitable for every type of car paint and genuinely deserves the title of “Ultimate Paint Restorer”. We greeted this with scepticism when we read the boast on the side of the bottle. But we’re happy to conclude we were wrong. The car we tested this on looks like we just drove it out of a showroom! But the truth is that was two years ago!
3. SHINE ARMOR Revive Scratch Repair Swirl Remover
Best Features | Pros | Cons |
Quality paint restorer without needing the fillers and waxes. Removes minor scratches to virtually invisible. | No need for fillers or waxes to do the job. | Not a revolutionary formula like described. Doesn’t come with a buffer/sponge to use the formula with. |
Overview:
Perhaps we’re suckers for marketing, but out of all the different car scratch remover formulas we tried we were most excited about trying Shine Armor! We just thought the name was cool. But it turned out that this substance, did indeed actually have, well, substance! It wasn’t just a catchy name. It could talk the talk and indeed; walk the walk.
Like most car scratch remover compound, the formula is designed to be gently massaged into the paint work to fill in any cracks and to freshen the car’s paintwork. It was simple to apply, especially when using an external sponge device, and allowed minor scratches to become virtually invisible once used.
The product also markets itself as a premium paint restorer’ and we’re happy to report this is correct. This is a very affordable product, allowing us to replace the word premium’ with quality’. We genuinely felt this product kept our car looking shiny and eye catching for longer than it normally would. Especially if the product is used after the car’s just been washed.
The bottle also describes itself as a revolutionary formula’, the truth is we wouldn’t go that far. However, we are impressed that this product manages to do its job and buff out scratches on cars without the use of any filler or waxes. In many cases filler and wax is necessary to the job at hand, beneficial even. But if we’re using this as a paint restorer then in all honesty, we don’t need it to contain wax.
4. Carfidant Black Car Scratch Remover
Best Features | Pros | Cons |
Suitable for every type of dark car paint, and removes small scratches, swirl marks and other blemishes. Best paint protection for black cars. | Also removes stains, watermarks and other forms of paint blemishes. | Cannot be used on cars with lighter paint. |
Overview:
We recently reviewed Carfidant Scratch and Swirl Remover and felt like it was easily one of the best wax to remove scratches product of its kind on the market today. But Carfidant also have a compound designed specifically for black cars. Helping them retain their very own special sheen.
Black cars are different from the rest, their paintwork still scratches, and they can still be shiny, but due to them being darker it’s impossible to expect every product on the market to work on them in the same way. That’s where Carfidant Black comes in.
This product is specifically designed to keep black cars free from small scratches and swirl marks and any other blemish that may appear from exposure to the elements. It’s simple to use, just apply a modest amount of the substance to the included buffer pad and gently apply to effected areas. It’s also effective on deep scratches, masking the damage but there are some that may be too deep. Although this product will help them look less noticeable.
Now we are keen to stress that we wouldn’t recommend using this product on a car that doesn’t have a black paint job. Trust us when we say this product is for black cars only. Using it on a lighter car could cause more harm than good so don’t risk it.
5. TriNova Scratch Swirl Remover
Best Features | Pros | Cons |
Easy to use, comes with a buffer pad. Safe on all paint finishes. | Helps scratches to become less prominent | Will not remove deep scratches, only help to make less obvious |
Overview:
We were a little bit surprised when we came across the TriNova Scratch and Swirl Remover. Out of all of the car scratch remover products we tried, this was the only one that asked us to “be sensible”. Going out of its way to inform us that some scratches will be too deep for this product and that the manufacturers would encourage us to be realistic with our expectations. They even went so far to advise us to go to an auto repair shop if we needed to.
We felt this was a strange marketing strategy. The other products were all making claims of being The Ultimate Solution or The Perfect Compound. While here was this one telling us to manage our expectations accordingly. At first, we felt that the product could be preparing us for experiencing lower quality then we were used to, but in-fact, it was under-promising so it would over-deliver. Which is a very clever marketing technique and we fell for it, hook, line and sinker.
While it’s true, if you’ve got a gash in your paintwork several inches wide and deep, some basic wax filler probably isn’t going to resolve that for you. And a trip to the garage may well be on the horizon for deep car scratch remover. But this product will indeed help buff out scrapes on cars and make such a scratch less obvious.
Even better, this product made smaller scratches a thing of the past and made the paintwork on our car look good as new. It removed watermarks and other signs of wear and tear with ease and left us with a very fresh looking car.
